Charlie Brown Tribute

For over 70 years, a boy and his beagle brought joy and humor to the world through newspaper comics and televised cartoons. Charlie Brown and Snoopy have become one of the most popular cartoon characters of all time next to Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Popeye the Sailor, Garfield, the Minions, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, and SpongeBob SquarePants. While Charlie Brown struggles with getting the attention of the Little Red Haired Girl, he falls also victim to a tree-eating kite and a girl, Lucy, who always pulls away the football before he kicks it. Snoopy had a different set of adventures. Using his typewriter, going on different adventures with his bird friend Woodstock, and even using his doghouse as an airplane as the World War 1 Ace to face the Red Baron! Their escapades brought limitless laughter and charm, and has surpassed the test of time.

But now our favorite beagle mourns the loss of his owner, in the form of voice actor Peter Robbins. What started out as friendship formed when Charlie Brown first got Snoopy at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm has ended with Robbins tragically taking his own life. Robbins was the first actor to voice Charlie Brown in an animated special, and many have followed in his footsteps since. But instead of laughing, people are here crying because they lost someone who brought their childhood to life.

Rest in peace, Peter Robbins, and say hi to Charles Schulz for us.
